Winter's last breath

These photos were taken on the most beautiful misty morning I've seen. I already shared some photos taken with my Hasselblad on the same day, but there were still some photos taken with my digital camera waiting for me in my Lightroom catalogue.

When I arrived at De Kampina, a beautiful natural area with lots of different types of sceneries, the sun was shining. It was still early and very cold, but it was just after sunrise and the sun was just starting to reach the frozen grass between the various trees in the forest.

Just after I reached a large open space with heather, the mist started rolling in. Literally rolling in. I was really amazed by the speed the mist was covering De Kampina. I even doubted there was a fire somewhere .. the mist was that dense.

As you might know, I love mist. If I was up to me it would be like this every time I went out. It was so beautiful and it looked like the mist was creating that atmosphere especially for me. At least that’s what I believe. I had never seen mist ‘arrive’ like this, most of the times it’s there when I wake up and vanishes whenever the sun takes over.

This was winter’s last breath .. and it was beautiful!
